What day? That really changes the game of things to be aware of. If your here for the views the Smokey Mountians are actually literally smokey and everything smells and looks like a fire right now. Sorry :(

Also if you come down south you totally should check out Barber Motorsports.

While tempting, if things don’t work out I’ll be in Atlanta

Atlanta would be closer but.....

Well I can’t remember if you are a West or East of me person but if want to stop in Knoxville on the way hit me up. On Tuesday Gatlinburg/Sevierville should be pretty clear of traffic. Fridays and Sundays are a nightmare.

East of you

Star Tracks go karts, they have multiple tracks around the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. They are cheesy touristy but one is a wooden 3 story spiral up and then a straight drop down to the right. Another is the slick track, basically just an oval track you can drift the entire time. Also they have one of the best Mellow Mushroom pizza places I’ve been to.

Missouri resident but recent (April) visitor.
Skip downtown.
Spend a day in the Smoky Mountain National Park. Bring good cameras with lots of storage/film and batteries. Look out for bears. The roads are fun to drive bit can be challenging (and tiring after a while).
Go to the Artist’s Village area. Find a tavern nearby called “The Fox and the Parrot” (2nd story, stairs on the right). Drink, eat, and play board games. The owners also have a wine & tapas bar right by the Artist’s Village but we had more fun at F&P.
There’s car-related stuff in nearby Pigeon Forge, but I didn’t have a chance to explore as I made the mistake of going through there during the biggest car show weekend of the year.
Find an empty mountaintop, and disconnect from the world for a few hours. But be wary of bears.

That wooden one was awesome when I went years ago. Held the throttle pretty much flat for every lap.

Stop at Cooter’s in Gatlinburg. Ben Jones might even be there.

Oooh! My dad loves the Dukes of Hazzard

Yeah, c’mere to AL. We can (probably) meet up.

I went there. I’m a Michigan boy, but we spent a couple days down there with family. Easily the highlight of the trip for me, being a total Dukes nut.

Tennesseans. Watch out for those.

We’re the worst.

There are so many here in SC, I guess they like the Southeast, but wanted to live somewhere that didn’t border Tennessee.
(I would live in Tennessee again, awesome place)

It’s great. No income tax, manageable sales tax, pretty views, etc

Being it’s Gatlinburg, I would imagine most of the people there will be from Florida.

I know a lot of people from Alabama that go there for Thanksgiving. For whatever reason.
![]() 11/21/2016 at 21:06 |

Yeah. A lot of people from Mississippi do the same. Same goes for Christmas. Gatlinburg in Winter is quite beautiful, though.

I would say Tail of the Dragon, but it seems you’re flying so you may not have access to a fun car. Foothills parkway is a nice little drive as well.
For something right in Gatlinburg, go to The Village, eat at Pancake Pantry (cash only but they have an ATM), and get some donuts from the Donut Friar.
